Full Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Licence

 

 

Successful completion of an Apprenticeship as a Refrigeration Mechanic e.g. Proficiency Certificate; or Trade Recognition Certificate: Refrigeration Mechanic; or

MEM30205 Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning); or

MEM30298 Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical- Refrigeration and A/C)*; or
UTE31306 Certificate III in Refrigeration and A/C*; or

UTE30999 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Refrigeration and A/C*; or

Trade Certificate with a Trade Outcome of Refrigeration Mechanic and evidence of Industry Experience*.


 

2 years

 

 

To handle a refrigerant for any work in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, other than the automotive industry.

 

 

AACO2

 

 

Automotive Air Conditioning Licence

 

 

AUR20799 Certificate II in Automotive (Mechanical - A/C)*; or

AUR20705 Certificate II in Automotive (Mechanical- A/C)*.


 

2 years

 

 

To handle a refrigerant for any work on air conditioning equipment fitted to the cabin of a motor vehicle.

 

RSSO3

 

 

Restricted Split System Air Conditioning Installation and Decommissioning Licence

 

 

MEM20198 Certificate II in Engineering Production (A/C)*; or

UEE20106 Certificate II in Air Conditioning Split Systems*; or

40488SA Certificate II in Split Systems A/C*.


 

2 years

 

 

To handle a refrigerant for the installation and decomissioning of a single head split system air conditioner of less than 18 kW cooling capacity.

 

 

RDRO4

 

 

Restricted Domestic Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Appliance Licence

 

 

MEM20198 Certificate II in Engineering Production (Refrigeration)*; or

UTE20106 Certificate II in Electrotechnology Servicing (Appliance-Refrigeration)*; or

UTE20504 Certificate II in Electrotechnology Servicing (Applicance-Refrigeration)*; or

90953NSW Certificate in Domestic Appliance Servicing*; or

UEE21806 Certificate II in Appliance Servicing Refrigerants*; or

UEE30506 Certificate III in Appliance Servicing*.


 

2 years

 

 

To handle a refrigerant for any work on domestic refrigeration or air conditioning equipment.

Aviation Transitional Licence

 

 

Letter from employer indicating the applicant is able to competently do this work

To handle a refrigerant for any work undertaken on air conditioning equipment on aircraft.


 

MTLO6

 

 

Marine Transitional Licence

 

 

Letter from employer indicating the applicant is able to competently do this work

To handle a refrigerant for any work on refrigeration or air conditioning equipment on vessels at sea.

Transport Refrigeration Transitional Licence

 

 

Letter from employer indicating the applicant is able to competently do this work

To handle a refrigerant for any work on mobile refrigeration systems other than air conditioning systems in the cabin of a motor vehicle


 

RRTLO8

 

 

Refrigerant Recoverer Transitional Licence

 

 

Letter from employer indicating the applicant is able to competently do this work

 

1 year

 

 

To handle a refrigerant while recovering end of life or damaged equipment or prior to recharging with hydrocarbons.


 

RHTLO5

 

 

Refrigerant Handler Transitional Licence

 

 

Letter from employer indicating the applicant is able to competently do this work

To handle a refrigerant while decanting cylinders.
